The Berry porcelain settled in Foëcy, Noirlac and Mehun-sur-Yèvre in the 19th century, the porcelain industry has transmitted their know-how through generations. Their heirs are now the first porcelain producers in France and export everywhere the world. The « Route de la Porcelaine » invites you to discover this « white gold ».
In Mehun-sur-Yèvre, the « Pôle de la Porcelaine » brings together in a unique museum, unusual objects and exceptional pieces. A show presents the creation of porcelain: how to transform granite into kaolin, the magic transformation from a paste into an ornamented vase.
Philippe Deshoulières comes from a traditional family and created a living museum of porcelain (« Musée Vivant de la Porcelaine ») in Foëcy, in association with the « Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie ». They have a workshop of decor, a museum, a machine room and a historical presentation, which make the tour particularly attractive.
